The Reading Room For Counter Culture Club

The Reading Room at 2022nq

This Saturday (18th May) Parlour Press will be staging The Reading Room for Counter Culture Club at 2022nq in Manchester. We will be setting up our admirable array of artist books for CCClubbers to peruse and enjoy...also performing will be Bad Language, a Manchester writing collective will be doing a spoken word set, Generic Greeting (multimedia collective) and norwegian style musical stylings by Lizzie Nunnery and Vida Norheim. The Reading Room @ MMU Bindery

Yesterday was World Book Day and to celebrate I staged a little intervention/exhibition Reading Room of hand crafted artist books, zines and ephemera in the Bookbinding Workshop here at Manchester School Of Art. A good day!

Ris-O-Matic

New year, new projects. In the last few months here at Manchester School of Art we have had some amazing stuff printed on our new Risograph machine. The Ris-O-Matic project is my attempt at trying to collate these Riso printed posters/publications/ephemera to create some kind of library, and also to eventually show in an exhibition. I am going to post all submissions here... risomatic.com

Submissions from students and staff at Manchester School of Art all welcome. (All work needs to have been printed on our Risograph machine!) Stick your name and email in pencil on the back and hand to me (Caitlin) in the Bindery (Room Cha004)

Manchester Artist Book Fair 2012

 

 

 

Last Friday and Saturday was the Manchester Artist Book Fair. It was a lovely weekend with lots of friendly and familiar faces. I had a little stand to represent the Bindery here at Manchester School of Art, showing books and publications by staff, graduates and current students all made in our workshop! Thankyou to Sophie Lee, Libby Scarlett, Sylvia Waltering, Jacqueline Butler, Alex Marrs, Zac Crompton, Hollie Myles and Harriet Sleigh for letting me show your wonderful creations :)

This Autumn/Winter...

Busy busy couple of months ahead. First up is The 7th Manchester Artist Book Fair at Manchester School of Art This Friday and Sat (12th &13th Oct) I will be showing some work by current students, graduates and staff of Manchester School of Art. All lovely things made in the bindery here.

Next Sunday (21st Oct) is the Free For Arts Publishing Fair at Islington Mill in Salford. I will be selling my own books and things (2pm til 7pm)

Then in December it's the Winter Arts Market in St George's Hall, Liverpool. Me and Emma Brown will be selling on the Saturday.

Need to get making!
