The Silent Night Auction, next week!

Here is a selection of some our prints for the Silent Night Auction. The names of the artists will remain anonymous until the night of the auction...You may just pick up a bargain by a well known name...

The Silent Night Auction

Sophie and I are organising a little auction for Manchester School of Art's Photography course....

"Come and celebrate the power of photography and raise money for charity at The Silent Night Auction on the 9th December in central Manchester.

On sale at the auction will be a selection of beautiful, contemporary photographic prints, donated by past and present students from The Manchester School of Art's Photography Course.

The money raised from the auction will go towards the Tom Hurndall Award and to the photography course itself, in order to enrich the current student's learning experience. A percentage of sales will be donated to a charity selected by members from Tom's family (will be confirmed nearer the date).

Organised by Piccadilly Projects, along with Innospace and The Manchester School of Art's Photography Course we aim to raise funds whilst showcasing the diverse and exciting work produced by students and alumni. Providing a platform to build relations between local business, students and the community."

...Hopefully this will be great chance to meet some people slightly out of our usual circle who might be interested in collaborating with us/commisioning us!

Organising events like this is quite mental so it will be nice to get back into the studio with our forthcoming residency at Hot Bed Press in the New Year!

Manchester Artist Book Fair 2010

Last Saturday was the Manchester Artist Book Fair in the Holden Gallery at Manchester School of Art as organised by Hot Bed Press. It was a lovely day for Parlour Press (the all girl close vocal harmony group/independent press I am part of...) as we found out we are soon to be artists in residence at the amazing Hot Bed Press studio in Salford for six whole months!! There will be more news on this soon...But for now here is an Instax pic of myself and fellow Parlour Presser Libby Scarlett.... I will also post some pics of my new publication up very soon, upon it being guillotined.

This Saturday...

I will be attending the Fifth Manchester Artist Book Fair at Manchester School of Art, Cavendish Street, Manchester with the brilliant Parlour Press ladies! This year it's being organised by Hot Bed Press so it will be interesting to see if there are any new faces...I am currently in the middle of photocopying and folding lots of paper in preparation.Exciting!

This Sunday....

...Is the Piccadilly Self Publishing Fair! And in the following week is the Piccadilly Self Publishing Exhibition...There is more info here, here and here about that...A lot to do and so little time now. I hope we can pull it off...Looking forward to meeting the stall holders and exhibitors and all the people that come (if any come!)

Above Ultimate Holding Company and Article Magazine will be exhibiting/selling work at the fair...
